Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to standardize CI/CD on GitHub Actions, automate infrastructure with Terraform and CloudFormation, and implement GitOps across on-prem, AWS, and Azure. You will work with development teams to optimize delivery, security, and observability while driving FinOps and SRE initiatives.

You should bring 5–6+ years in cloud/DevOps, strong AWS/Azure skills, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Jenkins.

Qualifications

• 5–6+ years of Cloud/DevOps/platform engineering experience.
• AWS and Azure hands-on experience required.
• GitHub and Bitbucket experience including branching strategies.
• GitHub Actions experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code across environments.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience with containerized apps.
• Experience with EKS/ECS and/or AKS; Jenkins or similar tooling.
• AWS or Azure certifications are preferred.
• Strong scripting with Python/PowerShell/Shell for automation.
• Familiar with cloud monitoring/observability tools.

Responsibilities

What you can expect

This role focuses on CI/CD, platform engineering, and operational excellence across on-prem, AWS, and Azure

Will work closely with development teams to understand their design/challenges, propose technical solutions, and assist with implementation of systems.

Standardize CI/CD on GitHub Actions by building reusable workflows/composite actions, defining runner strategy, and enforcing environment protections/approvals and required quality gates; automate build, test, security checks, and progressive delivery (blue/green, canary) to enable developer self-service.

Develop automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, source code management and new ways to operate and collaborate; implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and Terraform.

Use role-relevant languages and frameworks such as Python, Shell/PowerShellplus Groovy/JavaScript as needed for pipeline automation.

Implement GitOps-based deployment patterns and environment promotion workflows; establish guardrails for configuration, secrets, and change management across environments.

Partner with engineering and leadership on FinOps practices: cost allocation/tagging standards, budget alerts, showback/chargeback reporting, rightsizing and scheduling, and optimization of compute/storage/network spend.

Drive DevSecOps and Security Operations alignment by partnering with security teams on detection and response (triage, containment, postmortems), improving platform hardening and access controls, and ensuring audit-ready logging and monitoring.

Define and operationalize SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, on-call readiness, runbooks, automated remediation, and service health dashboards leveraging modern observability tooling.

Skills and Requirements

• 5–6+ years of Cloud / DevOps / Platform Engineering experience
• Strong hands-on AWS and Azure experience
• GitHub and Bitbucket experience, including source control and branching strategies
• GitHub Actions experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Experience with EKS/ECS and/or AKS
• Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tooling
• Ability to work hybrid in Letterkenny 2–3 days per week
• AWS or Azure cloud certifications
• Strong scripting/automation experience with Python, PowerShell, or Shell
• Experience with cloud monitoring/observability, such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, networking, DNS, and routing
