Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to modernize and deploy a critical government information system. The role focuses on GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Nexus repository management, and Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.

You will automate deployments, manage artifacts, and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades across Windows Server environments while migrating toward AWS cloud infrastructure. Strong AWS, IaC, and security practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Nexus Repository management experience.
• Building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server administration.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform).
• Infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Administer Windows Server environments and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades.
• Plan and execute migration strategies from on-prem VMware to AWS.
• Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3.
• Develop containerization strategies for Java applications.
• Implement configuration management tools and practices.
• Apply security controls in both on-prem VMware and AWS.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies.
