Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Tysons, VA to analyze current technology and design steps to improve and expand upon it. You will work with Linux/AIX/Windows infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and security practices to support development and release pipelines.

Responsibilities include change-management adherence, collaboration with the DevOps team, and maintaining system SLAs while implementing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science with 4+ years related experience, or a high school diploma with 8+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux/AIX/Windows infra tasks and operations.
• Adhere to Government change-management processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps team to resolve issues.
• Own systems operation SLA for issue resolution.
• Manage BOT operations and related resolutions.
• Produce weekly scan reports and mitigate alerts.
• Review security scan reports and coordinate remediation.
• Maintain hardware and software for projects and ensure efficient completion.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve processes to increase efficiency.
• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure.
• Automate development and release processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Work with developers to ensure processes are followed.
• Continuously review and adopt new processes.
• Propose CI/CD adoption with FedRAMP tools.
• Aim for CI/CD pipeline and continuous deployment.
• Iterate on best practices to improve deployment velocity and quality.
• Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
• Evaluate existing systems against industry standards and recommend improvements.
• Support DevOps team with surge tasks.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
