Job summary

Newrez LLC is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support application development teams. The role focuses on getting developers and contractors set up, resolving infrastructure issues, and building automation to ensure successful deployments across environments.

The engineer will contribute to release management, monitoring, and incident response, enabling reliable, scalable software delivery on-site in Dallas. Strong Azure/AWS experience and CI/CD expertise are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in the field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Services and AWS.
  • Familiarity with Git repositories and branching/merging workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of release of custom software products.
  • Provide server, cloud, and application support during deployment and production.
  • Install tools and libraries on servers and write automation scripts.
  • Perform code migrations for deployment.
  • Manage release and build processes using ALM software.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot environment issues.
  • Provide production support and release documentation.

POSITION SUMMARY: DevOps Engineer

Application Development is essential for all software application development projects. This person will aid in getting developers and contractors set up, resolve infrastructure issues, create, and maintain build automation, ensure deployment success, simplify code merges, ensure our change management process is followed, and support site reliability efforts through monitoring, alerting, and incident response. This person ensures our application development team, and contractors can successfully build and deploy software into a variety of environments.

DESCRIPTION:
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Ensure quality of release of custom software products.

Responsible for system administration and management of third-party tools used by the app dev team.

Maintain release notification, instructions, and processes.

Providing direct server, cloud, and application support during various operations such as deployment and general production.

Provide production support.

Install the required tools and libraries on servers and write automation scripts for deployment as needed.

Performs code migrations for deployment.

Provide input for design and document of source code control, promotion models, build, test and release processes.

Execute strategies to manage installations, upgrades, and rollbacks.

Support the management of software development projects through ALM software.

Investigate and drive automation of release and builds.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any environmental issues.

Responsible for maintaining and building support documentation.

Provision cloud resources to support app dev teams.

Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in the field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Services.
  • Experience with AWS.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Experience with Git repositories and branching/merging workflows.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
  • Experience with Grafana for monitoring and observability.
  • Knowledgeable in basic design of software.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Working on-site at assigned office location.

Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.

Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.

Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.

Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.

Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.

Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
