Job summary

Newrez is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to administer and optimize employee benefits programs on-site in Coppell, TX. The role requires strong regulatory knowledge and extensive benefits administration experience to ensure compliant and cost-effective offerings.

You will collaborate with payroll and HRIS teams, support open enrollment, and drive employee education on health, welfare, and wellness initiatives. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience with administration of benefit programs.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, etc.).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries from employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment processes, including system testing, employee communications, and employee enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA).
  • Benefit reporting to analyze data, monthly billing reconciliations, and verify accuracy of enrollment data with outside vendors.
  • Partner with payroll and HRIS teams to ensure accurate benefits deductions and data integrity.
  • Support audits, filings, and reporting requirements (e.g., 5500s, ACA reporting).
  • Assist in the development and delivery of employee education and wellness programs.

The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration, communication, and compliance of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, and wellness initiatives. This role serves as a subject matter expert and strategic partner, ensuring that benefit offerings are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience with benefit administration platforms; working knowledge of Workday preferred.
