Job summary

SmartRent is seeking a DevOps Engineer to accelerate infrastructure evolution by bridging traditional cloud infrastructure with AI enablement. You will collaborate across software development, operations, and security teams to build scalable, secure, and resilient SmartRent solutions.

This role reports to HQ in Phoenix, AZ with preference for local candidates but open to others. You will design, implement, and manage multi-region AWS environments using Terraform, build CI/CD pipelines, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years in DevOps, Platform, or Cloud Engineering.
• 2+ years with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Strong cloud architecture knowledge (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Hands-on programming (Python, Go, etc.).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering to design, provision, update, and maintain multi-region AWS environments using IaC (Terraform).
• Design and maintain CI/CD workflows across environments with automated testing.
• Support infrastructure for smart-building data pipelines, IoT telemetry, and AI/LLM feature rollouts.
• Implement AIOps, anomaly detection, and automated alert responses using DataDog and CloudWatch.
• Drive self-healing infra, auto-scaling, cost optimization, and incident response.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and other duties as required.
