Qualifications

• 5–7 years of software development experience, including 5+ years in a DevOps role.
• 5+ years hands-on AWS cloud experience.
• Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and YAML CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation templates.
• Experience with AWS AI/MLOps technologies (SageMaker, Bedrock, ECS/EKS, IAM).
• Certifications: AWS Associate or Professional level.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to work independently.
• Excellent communication across engineering teams.

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a DevOps Engineer 3. The work will be performed on a hybrid schedule, with 2 days onsite per week in Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Peoria, IL; or Broomfield, CO, with additional onsite attendance as requested. This is a long-term position with potential for permanent employment with our client.

Compensation offers up to 80/hr W2 + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer 3 will support cloud infrastructure, software development, and deployment initiatives across multiple digital engineering teams. This role focuses on AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), IAM management, and cloud-based AI/MLOps services. The engineer will collaborate with development teams to design, build, test, deploy, and troubleshoot scalable cloud solutions while maintaining security, reliability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is an experienced DevOps professional with strong AWS expertise, hands-on automation experience, and the ability to resolve complex technical challenges independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and digital engineering solutions.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and YAML-based automation.
• Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using AWS CloudFormation templates.
• Manage AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), troubleshoot cloud connectivity issues, and support secure cloud operations.
• Support cloud-based MLOps and AI services, including Amazon SageMaker, Bedrock, ECS/EKS, and related AWS technologies.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to streamline application builds, testing, deployment, and cloud integration.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, networking, and cloud connectivity issues.
• Perform integration testing and support customer acceptance testing to ensure reliable system performance.
• Establish and maintain DevOps best practices for automation, scalability, security, and software quality.
• Provide technical support for production systems, including occasional off-shift and weekend troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree is not mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of relevant software development experience, including at least 5 years in a DevOps engineering role.
• AWS Cloud: At least 5 years of hands-on AWS cloud experience.
• CI/CD: Strong proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience developing and deploying AWS CloudFormation templates.
• AI/MLOps: Practical experience with AWS AI and MLOps technologies, including SageMaker Notebooks, Bedrock, ECS/EKS, and IAM.
• Cloud Operations: Experience troubleshooting AWS infrastructure, cloud connectivity, and application deployment issues.
• Certifications: AWS Associate or Professional-level certification.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently on complex technical problems.
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills, with demonstrated success collaborating across engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional AWS or Microsoft Azure certifications in DevOps, Development, or Cloud Architecture.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting AWS firewalls, networking, and cloud security.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
• Experience with NVIDIA GPUs for AI workloads, particularly cybersecurity, cloud governance, and security compliance.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments and distributed engineering teams.
• Strong background in automation, infrastructure optimization, and cloud scalability.
• Experience working in large-scale manufacturing, industrial technology, or enterprise digital engineering environments.
