We're partnering with a technology solutions provider to bring on a DevOps Engineer for a client-facing professional services engagement. This role is hands-on and high-visibility — you'll be delivering cloud infrastructure and container orchestration solutions directly to end customers, with an emphasis on technical excellence and measurable business outcomes.
What We're Looking For
We need a sharp, self-directed engineer who lives in the AWS and Kubernetes ecosystem. You're someone who treats roadblocks as puzzles, not dead ends, and you take pride in building things the right way — not just the fast way. You stay current on tooling and best practices because you genuinely enjoy the work, not because someone told you to.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain large-scale microservices workloads running on Kubernetes in production environments
- Implement and integrate service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, Consul, or similar)
- Develop and manage Helm Charts and Custom Resource Definitions
- Build cloud-native CI/CD workflows for containerized applications using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, CodePipeline, or equivalent
Infrastructure Automation
- Write and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or similar frameworks to ensure repeatable, sustainable cloud environments
- Leverage scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) and at least one object-oriented language (Python, Go, Java, C++, Ruby, or similar) to drive automation
- Design, build, deploy, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines end‑to‑end
- Advise development teams on AWS architecture patterns and design principles
- Maintain disciplined git workflows including branching strategies and version control best practices
Requirements
- Public clearance or higher
- 4–7 years of DevOps/SRE experience in AWS environments or supporting software development teams
- 3+ years hands‑on with Kubernetes running production microservices
- 4+ years building and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure
- Strong experience with container orchestration — EKS, Helm, CRDs
- Solid understanding of AWS cloud security best practices
- Proficient with Linux and Docker
- Proficient in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Proficient in configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- At least one strong programming/scripting language
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, or similar)
- Experience integrating static/dynamic code analysis and testing tools into CI/CD (SonarQube, Selenium, etc.)
- Production experience with GitOps workflows — ArgoCD, app-of-apps patterns, Prometheus, Grafa
