Job summary

PTC is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Shoreview, MN hybrid role. You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and operational services supporting DPT and integration products, across on‑prem and cloud deployments.

Collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable SaaS services, automate provisioning, and uphold DevSecOps practices, while exploring new technologies to strengthen the Digital Thread platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automation experience with GitLab, GitHub, Python, Bash, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and security best practices.

Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer on the Digital Thread / IPE team, you will work in an agile environment to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and operational services supporting PTC’s DPT and integration products. You will collaborate closely with developers, architects, and product teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions across both on-prem and cloud deployments. This role blends traditional DevOps work with platform engineering and system integration, providing the opportunity to influence the future of PTC’s Digital Thread strategy.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)

• Build, enhance, and support DevOps tooling and operational infrastructure for on-prem and cloud-based environments.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting DPT, PTC Flow, and integrations between WNC, Codebeamer, and RVS.
• Partner with development teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality SaaS services.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, deployments, and monitoring across multiple environments.
• Implement and uphold DevSecOps best practices, including secure pipeline design, container hardening, and vulnerability scanning.
• Troubleshoot production issues in highly available, distributed systems.
• Research, evaluate and adopt new technologies to strengthen the Digital Thread platform.
• Write and maintain clear, accurate documentation for infrastructure, pipelines, and operational processes.
• Support cross-functional teams by providing integration insights, tooling improvements, and operational expertise.

Required Skills & Technical Knowledge

• Ability to commute to the Shoreview, MN office 2-3 days a week.
• Hands-on tool development and automation experience with:GitLab, GitHubPython, BashDocker, Kubernetes
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems and SaaS architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Solid understanding of security and secure development practices:SAST, DAST, SCAContainer image securityInfrastructure and pipeline hardening
• Experience with or interest in DevOps and Platform Engineering culture.
• Bonus: Experience integrating or supporting systems like WNC, Codebeamer, RVS, or similar ALM/PLM platforms.

Preferred Experience

• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Automation Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• Experience provisioning, operating, and securing highly available, on-premise or hybrid environments.
• Previous exposure to SaaS production environments or running systems at scale.
• Experience solving operational challenges in large, distributed systems.

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $72,000 - 105,000. The salary range reflects a good‑faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus.
