Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer for a contract engagement on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite per week). You will help migrate on‑premise systems to AWS and build secure, scalable cloud infrastructure with Terraform, EKS, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and compliance teams to improve reliability, observability, and cost efficiency while supporting a large-scale cloud transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of Cloud Engineering or DevOps experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong expertise with AWS services including EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, and IAM.
• Experience administering Kubernetes environments, particularly EKS.
• Strong Linux administration experience and hands-on Docker experience.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience building observability and monitoring solutions for large-scale environments.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Job description

A FinTech organization is currently looking to hire a Cloud Platform Engineer for a contract engagement based in Scottsdale with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 onsite days per week. The team is focused on AWS cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, security, and operational excellence as part of a large-scale cloud transformation initiative.

This role will support the migration of mission-critical applications and data from on-premises environments to AWS while helping deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-native solutions. The engineer will work closely with infrastructure, security, compliance, and application teams to improve reliability, automate infrastructure through Terraform, strengthen observability, support regulatory requirements, and maintain highly available production systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• 7+ years of Cloud Engineering or DevOps experience
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
• Strong expertise with AWS services including EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, and IAM
