Evlos Technology LLC in San Antonio, TX seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer with active TS/SCI clearance to design, deploy, and lead cloud infrastructure in AWS (EKS) and on-premises environments. You will build IaC with Terraform and Ansible, manage Kubernetes clusters, and advance CI/CD pipelines across teams.
You'll mentor engineers, collaborate with development groups, and support secure, scalable deployments in a fast-paced government-related setting, with on-site work 3–5 days per week.
Design, develop, deploy, and supportcloud infrastructure in AWS, with a particular focus on Amazon EKS.
Support the development and deployment ofon-premises, edge, and portable infrastructure in addition to cloud-based environments.
Develop and maintain automated deployment processes that improve the reliability, repeatability, and scalability of services.
Deploy, manage, monitor, and maintainKubernetes-based container environments and AWS cloud infrastructure.
Develop and maintainInfrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Build and improveCI/CD pipelines supporting efficient and reliable software delivery.
Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate applications and services into production infrastructure.
Monitor system and application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement effective solutions.
Identify opportunities to increase automation, reduce manual processes, and improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.
Support application, container, operating system, and infrastructure deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management.
Develop automation and operational tooling using languages such asPython, Bash, and Go.
Support and troubleshoot Linux-based systems across complex technical environments.
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and industry practices that can improve infrastructure, deployment, security, and performance.
Seamlessly transition between hands‑on engineering and technical leadership.
Mentor and support fellow engineers while promoting strong DevOps practices and engineering standards across the team.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Active TS U.S. Government security clearance required at the time of hire.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain aTS/SCI security clearance.
5+ years of relevant experience inDevOps Engineering, Software Development, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field;OR
3+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field;OR
High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of relevant experience.
Strong hands‑on experience withKubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
Strong knowledge of AWS services, includingEKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and their use in deploying and managing infrastructure.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such asTerraform and Ansible.
Experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, configuration, and management.
Proficiency with one or more scripting or programming languages such asPython, Bash, or Go.
Experience withGit, Flux, and related development and deployment tools.
Strong proficiency working withinterminal‑based environments.
Strong Linux knowledge, including system administration and troubleshooting.
Understanding ofCI/CD principles and modern software delivery practices.
Experience working withinAgile software development environments and with standard software development toolsets.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience serving as atechnical lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
Ability and willingness to support workspace opening and closing activities during regular business hours as needed.
Ability to work on‑site inSan Antonio, TX approximately 3–5 days per week, with flexibility to accommodate changes in customer or mission requirements.
Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance.
Experience with Big Data and distributed technologies such asHadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
Advanced experience withcontainers, Amazon EKS, CI/CD, and Terraform.
Experience supportingedge or disconnected computing environments.
Experience designing or operating highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity withDoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II requirements and qualifying certifications.
