Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Hands-on experience with AWS
• Experience building cloud infrastructure using Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code framework
• Strong understanding of CI/CD architecture and deployment automation
• Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar technologies
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, or other container orchestration technologies
• Strong Linux administration and production troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with Python and/or Bash for infrastructure automation
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/TLS, VPNs, load balancing, and cloud networking
• Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and least‑privilege access
• Experience supporting databases, APIs, data pipelines, and production application environments
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve production issues

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the cloud infrastructure supporting the firm's internal applications, AI systems, data workflows, and investment technology
• Partner closely with the Head of AI and Software Engineer to take new applications and tools from development into reliable production environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for internal software and AI applications
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration, monitoring, and recurring operational processes
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologies
• Support cloud-based data pipelines, databases, APIs, and application services
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and related technologies
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across the technology environment
• Monitor production systems and rapidly troubleshoot infrastructure, application, networking, and performance issues
• Build appropriate development, testing, staging, and production environments
• Implement best practices around IAM, secrets management, encryption, access controls, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Help establish engineering standards around deployment, testing, change management, documentation, and production support
• Improve the scalability and resiliency of systems supporting investment research, data analysis, portfolio workflows, and firm operations
• Evaluate new cloud, infrastructure, developer, and AI-platform technologies as the firm's technology stack evolves
• Identify manual or fragile processes throughout the organization and automate them wherever possible

The Role

The DevOps Engineer will report to the Head of AI and Software Engineer and take primary responsibility for the infrastructure, deployment, reliability, security, and automation underlying the firm's applications, AI tools, and data environment.
