Job summary

SEA CORP in Middletown, RI is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a Secret clearance to support DoD systems at our Middletown site. This full-time role requires handling server configurations, security and system monitoring to ensure availability and protection.

The successful candidate will have a technical degree, at least 3 years IT experience, and be a US citizen; DoD security requirements and RMF/SDLC familiarity are essential. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; advanced military training and/or DoD experience may substitute for degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of related IT experience.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Windows Administration certification is preferred.

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified DevOps Engineer.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


Job Summary: SEACORP's Platforms Business Area has an immediate need for a full-time DevOps Engineer professional with a Secret clearance based at our Middletown,Rhode Island site. The selected applicant will perform work to assist with the management of DoD systems. While these positions will mostly have regular business hours, some travel will be required.


Job Responsibilities Include:



  • Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server and systems configurations (hardware and software) to ensure their confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

  • Candidate would administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and performs systems monitoring.

  • Potential to consult on network, and application issues to support computer systems' security and sustainability.


Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field including but not limited to Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, is preferred. Advanced military technical training(e.g. Navy \"C\" School) and 6 years' experience in military systems(e.g., service abroad a naval ship) with an additional 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.


Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related work experience, preferably in IT.


Ideal Skills and Experience:



  • Windows Administration certification is preferred. Successful completion of training in Windows Administration will be required within the first 6 months of hire.

  • Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) eligibility at the DoD 8570-M Information Assurance Manager, Level I (IAT-I) and/or DoD 8140 Intermediate/Journeyman in Specialty Area 451. Examples of industry certification meeting this requirement is CompTIA's A+(ce), or Network+(ce) credential. CompTIA's Security+(ce) credential a plus.

  • Experience with DoD Cybersecurity, System Engineering, and/or Test & Evaluation processes is desired.

  • Understanding of the application of policy, process, and technical controls.

  • Position requires familiarity with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), System Engineering process, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series of special publications and other applicable DoD requirements.

  • Experience with the implementation of security controls, STIG application, and scanning on current Linux and/or Windows versions is necessary.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
