Position Summary:

The DevOps team is responsible for provisioning, maintaining, and monitoring systems and services on AWS, ensuring seamless operation and scalability. We collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence. Our goal is to monitor and improve operational excellence through self-service project templates, infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and other automation. We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team, who is passionate about cloud computing, automation, and collaboration.

Required Experience:

  1. Managing resources in the public cloud using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  2. Building DevSecOps workflows in CI to minimize vulnerabilities and ensure compliance and software quality
  3. Strong knowledge of:
    1. Kubernetes operational model, management, and delivery via GitOps (ArgoCD)
    2. Serverless applications (AWS Lambda, SQS/EventBridge, API GW, etc)
    3. Cloud architecture, networking concepts, and web protocols
    4. Linux operating systems and shell scripting
  4. SQL and managing relational databases
  5. Collaborating in team-oriented agile environments
  6. Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, driving collaboration with peers and members of other teams.
  7. B.S. in computer science, related degree, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Python
  2. Observability stacks (LGTM – Loki/Grafana/Tempo/Mimir - and OpenTelemetry)
  3. NoSQL database engines and data/ETL pipelines
  4. Optimizing database clusters and queries
  5. Participating in an on-call rotation and incident management
  6. Internal developer portals and platform tools (Backstage)

In this role, you will work primarily remotely with occasional travel as needed and be a part of a team distributed across the US. EVgo is headquartered in Los Angeles.

The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 USD to $155,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer discretionary target cash bonuses, restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval), and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, unbounded paid time off including parental leave, and a 401(k).
