Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Open to Remote (Preference for candidates local to Deerfield, Chicago, DC/Virginia, or Bellevue if converted to FTE)

Duration & Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential Contract-to-Hire)

Chamberlain Advisors is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the Cloud Engineering team on high-priority initiatives including CCP and NextGen platform enablement. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud infrastructure solutions in Azure using modern DevOps tools and Infrastructure-as-Code principles. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in DevOps, Linux/Windows administration, and IaC scripting (e.g., Bicep, Terraform, Chef) with strong fluency in cloud-native development, security, and automation best practices. What You’ll Be Accountable For

• Design, build, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, Terraform, and Chef
• Support cloud platform operations across Windows and Linux environments
• Develop and optimize DevOps CI/CD pipelines and tooling to support scalable deployments
• Ensure proper implementation of system security and compliance using tools such as OPA/Rego, Ansible, and cloud-native policy enforcement
• Partner with engineering teams to automate deployment, monitoring, logging, and alerting functions across cloud infrastructure
• Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud-native workloads using Git and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
• Document standards, operational playbooks, and technical runbooks to support long-term system sustainability and support
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues related to cloud environments or deployment infrastructure
• Contribute to the ongoing modernization and governance of the NextGen Cloud Engineering platform
  
  

What Qualifications You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline required
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles
• Proven expertise in DevOps practices across Windows and Linux environments
• Strong experience with Azure Cloud, Git, and scripting automation
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform, Chef)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across full-stack infrastructure
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time across multiple tasks
• Experience leading deployments and platform upgrades in production environments
• Nice to Have Skills:
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with OPA/Rego, HELM, Ansible, and Python scripting
• Experience with policy-as-code and configuration enforcement frameworks
