Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Berkeley Heights, NJ, to advance cloud infrastructure, security, and automation. The role emphasizes Azure IAM, zero-trust architecture, and robust monitoring through Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

The candidate will implement Terraform-based provisioning, automate AVD, and develop Azure DevOps pipelines, sustaining secure, scalable operations for a 12-month contract with potential conversion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Azure hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of Azure monitoring tools and operational dashboards.
• Expertise in Azure IaaS/PaaS including App Service, API Management, Front Door, Monitor, Sentinel.

Responsibilities

• Implement robust zero trust IAM and data encryption in Azure.
• Work with Terraform and Ansible for provisioning and automation.
• Build and maintain personalized Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) using automation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Identify and address infrastructure and application security vulnerabilities.
• Set up monitoring with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights; create dashboards.

Position Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Berkeley Heights New Jersey 07922

Duration: 12 Months (Contract to Hire)

Job Description:

• Azure Expertise - Implement robust zero trust architecture around identity and access management (IAM) and data encryption to ensure security.
• Infrastructure Skills - You’ll work with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure orchestration and software installation.
• AVD SME - You’ll build and maintain personalized AVD using automation.
• CI/CD Expertise - You’ll build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Security Focus - Identifying and addressing infrastructure and application security vulnerabilities is key. Implement robust zero trust architecture around identity and access management (IAM) and data encryption to ensure security.
• Monitoring Mastery - Set up robust monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights. Create operational dashboards for proactive visibility.

What you will need to have:

Most important:

1. 5+ years of Azure hands-on experience.
2. Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using **Azure DevOps** and **GitLab**.
3. Hands-on experience with **Terraform** for infrastructure provisioning.
4. Knowledge of Azure monitoring tools and operational dashboards.
5. Provide expertise on Azure Iaas/PaaS including Application Gateway, API Management, App Service, Azure Monitor, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure DevOps, Azure Storage, Azure Front Door.

Important but secondary to the items above:

1. Experience with **WebLogic** and **Apache**.
2. Strong understanding of Azure security practices.
3. Linux OS competence.
4. Agile mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
5. Collaborative team player.

What would be great to have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree; Master's is preferred.
• Ability to configure Microsoft Sentinel.
• Familiarity with FISMA HIGH, FedRAMP HIGH, and/or Zero Trust Architecture.
• Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-204 and AZ-400.
