About The Role
The role owns the infrastructure that keeps production systems online at scale - Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, and the observability stack that catches problems before customers do. You will work with software engineering teams to make deployments boring: fast, safe, and fully automated. The team values reliability engineering over firefighting, and infrastructure-as-code over snowflake servers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure on AWS (EKS, Terraform, Helm) supporting services that handle production traffic at scale
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, cutting build times and enforcing safe, automated deployment practices
- Build and maintain observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and alerting pipelines with actionable SLOs and error budgets
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform modules, eliminating manual configuration and drift across environments
- Lead incident response and blameless postmortems; drive root-cause fixes and resilience improvements rather than repeat patches
- Harden security posture: secrets management (Vault), IAM least-privilege policies, network segmentation, and vulnerability remediation
- Partner with backend engineers on capacity planning, load testing, and cost optimization across cloud spend
What We Are Looking For
- 3-7 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, including running production systems at scale
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and containerized application deployment in production
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform; scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred: EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS)
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, TLS, VPNs, and service mesh concepts (Istio or Linkerd)
- Track record of improving reliability measurably - SLOs, error budgets, reduced MTTR, or similar outcomes
- Bonus: experience with multi-cluster or multi-region architectures, GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux), chaos engineering, or platform engineering/IDP builds
