Job summary

The Oregon Clinic Cardiology Creekside clinic in Beaverton seeks a full-time Device Technician (Credentialed Medical Assistant) to join a patient-focused team. You will work with physicians to manage implanted cardiac devices, monitor remote checks, educate patients, and coordinate care across the device team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of cardiology experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from a national certifying entity.
  • CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire; ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Two years of pacemaker and ICD technology training preferred.
  • May have EMR experience, Epic is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs device management under physician oversight for implanted cardiac devices.
  • Manages device patients and collaborates with physicians on care plans.
  • Troubleshoots device issues and conducts device clinic triage with patient education.
  • Assesses CIEDs for sub-optimal programming, arrhythmias, or abnormal findings.

Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:

  • Performs independently with physician oversight in the technical management of implanted cardiac pacemaker and ICD devices.
  • Manages device patients and their care, implementing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other device team members.
  • Troubleshoots device issues and performs device clinic triage, including patient instruction and education regarding device and remote monitoring.
  • Assesses CIEDs (cardiac implantable electronic device) and identifies sub-optimal programming, abnormal findings, and/or arrhythmias.
  • Provides welcomed support through educating device patients under provider discretion regarding post implant/wound check, routine follow-up care, home monitoring compliance, treatments and/or procedures.
  • Manages external heart monitors.
  • Assists with sterile surgical procedures.
  • Provides billing and scheduling support as needed.
  • Manages scheduled remote checks, reports, and billing.
  • Updates records as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary: Hiring range, based on experience and credentials: $28.66- $42.99 per hour.

Workdays: This role is located at The Oregon Clinic Creekside Pavilion. Typical hours are Monday-Friday (8:00 am-5:00 pm).

Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Cardiology is preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from a national certifying entity (AAMA, NCCT, NHA, etc.).
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Minimum of two (2) years training in pacemaker and ICD Technology is preferred.
  • Continuing education, keeping up to date on device technology and advancements.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
