Job summary

HP IQ is HP’s new AI innovation lab. As a Software Engineer specializing in Device Security, you will build secure, privacy-focused technologies for HP IQ’s AI-enabled devices, collaborating with security, firmware, OS, hardware, and cloud engineers.

You’ll work on secure boot, cryptography, device identity, and secure communication across embedded systems, PCs, and servers, using C/C++/Java in embedded, AOSP, Linux, or Windows environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 2–4 years of software engineering with embedded systems, OS, firmware, or security focus.
• Proficient in C, C++, Java or similar systems language.
• Foundational understanding of secure boot, cryptography, authentication and PKI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security features for embedded devices and secure software components.
• Collaborate across CoreOS, Firmware, Hardware, Design, and Cloud Services to integrate security into HP IQ products.
• Work with security concepts like secure boot, data protection, and device identity across Linux/AOSP environments.
• Contribute to threat modeling, security reviews, and remediation activities throughout the SDLC.
