Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform/audit first/last article checks
  • Monitor all auxiliary equipment for proper operation and grinding runners where applicable
  • Weigh and label each bag, box, or tote utilizing the utility computer
  • Ensure all labels are correct according to the work order information
  • Prepare parts for shipment to the warehouse by properly labeling each box and stacking on the appropriate pallets
  • Perform dimensional and visual quality checks
  • Document quality checks and corrective actions on the Molding Inspection Record
  • Prepare all paperwork for upcoming changes
  • Responsible for proper handling and documentation of rejected product on the injection molding machines
  • Maintain an open line of communication to assure all problems and changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner
  • As requested, assist other team members in cross‑training and conduct on‑the‑job training of other associates
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start‑up, updating PVD boards, etc.
  • Continuously improve through the KAS program, meeting department goals for completed KAS
  • Align with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations
  • Follow all local BD quality, housekeeping and safety policies, procedures and practices

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or 1 year of consecutive work
  • One to four years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • One year of injection molding machine experience preferred

  • The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift to 20 lbs., frequently lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs., frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs., frequently carry up to 5 lbs
  • The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations
  • Employees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment
  • The incumbent must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as, safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock

Primary Work Location: USA, UT - Sandy

Work Shift: D-Shift – 6pm-6am rotating 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
