Job Details

Location: Haverhill, MA 01830. Salary Range: $21.00 - $21.00 Hourly.

Position: Developmental Specialist. Part‑time schedule: 25+ hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:15am – 3:15pm. The position is a 35‑hour, non‑exempt role and union eligible with SEIU Local509. Benefits are eligibleas of the date of hire.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct care and support based on individual medical, physical, and behavioral needs.
  • Implement and monitor individualized support plans, behavior strategies, and medical protocols.
  • Accurately implement crisis intervention strategies, behavior support plans, and medical protocols.
  • Facilitate skill development and goal achievement as outlined in individual support plans, monitoring progress and adjusting approaches as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, ensuring clarity and relevance for regulatory review.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed incident and accident reports that clearly outline interventions and meet all regulatory standards.
  • Encourage self‑advocacy and active participation in daily routines and community activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure consistent, high‑quality support.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑prepared program environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a training or support program for individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred).
  • Candidacy must include the ability to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • CPR/First Aid certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3months of employment.
  • Complete all mandatory training within 90days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
