Job summary

Journeys DDA in the Boise area is hiring an Intervention Technician to support children with intellectual/developmental disabilities. You will implement behavior plans, promote skill development, and work with families and a multidisciplinary team to improve quality of life.

You will collect data, document progress, participate in crisis de-escalation when needed, and train caregivers on behavior strategies, maintaining confidentiality and a compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or in-progress preferred in relevant fields.
• Knowledge of ABA and PBS essential.
• Minimum 12 months supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Criminal background check clearance required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and use crisis intervention techniques when needed.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Support: Implement behavior plans and strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and promote positive change.
• Skill Development: Develop tailored programs to enhance social, cognitive, and life skills.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Document observations and track progress to adjust plans.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work with therapists, educators, families and team members.
• Crisis Intervention: De-escalate and ensure safety using approved techniques.
• Training and Education: Guide families and caregivers on strategies and interventions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare timely reports on progress and plans.
