Under supervision (Planner I) of the Planning and Zoning Administrator, performs entry (Planner I) level work related to land use planning, zoning, construction plan review, building and site inspection, and code enforcement. Provides technical expertise to elected officials, boards and commissions, and the public. Work involves extensive communication across the City’s departments and with other agencies.

The Planner I is the entry-level classification of the job series. The Planner I is distinguished from the Planner II by performing work under closer guidance of upper-level planners and the Planning and Zoning Administrator. The work of the Planner I is more routine and operates with basic knowledge. The Planner I provides assistance to individuals and escalates more complex inquiries as required.

Full-time with benefits – open until filled - Hiring Range $21.45-23.00/Hour
