Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Development Security & Operations Engineer in Medley, FL to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and automate security testing.

You will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to strengthen cloud and application security, promote secure coding practices, and respond to incidents while supporting compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity or software development experience.
• Experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, application security, or related technical role.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and IaC tools.
• Experience securing cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• Experience identifying vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
• Knowledge of cloud-native security tools and practices.
• Strong understanding of secure software development, threat modeling, encryption, vulnerability assessment, access controls, and risk management.
• Understanding of network architecture, security protocols and secure network design.
• Familiarity with regulatory/security frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2.
• Proficiency with Python, Java, Ruby, or similar scripting languages.

Summary: The DevSecOps Engineer integrates security tools and practices throughout the software development lifecycle. This position partners with development, operations, and security teams to automate security testing, analyze vulnerabilities, recommend remediation, strengthen cloud and application security, and promote secure coding practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or at least 10 years of relevant cybersecurity or software development experience
• Experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, application security, or a related technical role
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience securing cloud environments using platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Experience identifying vulnerabilities and developing appropriate remediation or mitigation strategies
• Knowledge of cloud-native security tools and practices
• Strong understanding of secure software development, threat modeling, encryption, vulnerability assessment, access controls, and risk management
• Understanding of network architecture, security protocols, secure network design, and system administration
• Familiarity with regulatory and security frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2
• Proficiency with Python, Java, Ruby, or similar programming and scripting languages
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
• Ability to support or participate in security incident response

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
