Job summary

Samsung Electronics America in Newberry, SC seeks a Development Purchasing Part Leader responsible for directing local parts purchasing strategy, building annual plans, and managing KPI to meet procurement goals.

You will lead negotiations, manage tooling and part approvals, monitor supplier performance, and coordinate with HQ reports, while ensuring on-site operations align with corporate objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing.
• Process knowledge, people management skills, negotiation skills, process innovation, supplier management, ability to develop strategy, training the team, Proficient in cost management, development process, cross functional teams approach, working on global environment, Contract management & ability to prioritize the work based on the situation.

Responsibilities

• Implement purchasing strategy for local parts.
• Increase the local spend based on the Cost Analysis (in order to improve the cost of the product).
• Reduce import spend to increase proportion of spend locally based on cost analysis.
• Plan yearly negotiations with local suppliers.
• Develop and reach KPI goals and establish counter measures by reviewing and monitoring KPI performance.
• Review the team's performance and give regular feedback to team members.
• Review the status of new model development & review price contracts with the team.
• Manage Tooling, test samples, Part approval and launch readiness with team.
• Collect, validate and consolidate HQ/management reports, and Audit reports.
• All other duties as assigned.
