Job summary

The Community Builders Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Development Associate to partner with senior team members on projects in the Southeast region and beyond.

You will gain exposure to due diligence, entitlements, financing, design, construction and leasing to deliver quality housing on schedule and within budget. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of related experience, strong financial/analytical skills, and the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Strong financial and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Advanced Excel, MS Office and Project skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in due diligence, entitlements, financing, design, construction and leasing.
• Organize responses to RFPs and represent the organization at community meetings.
• Work with internal and external colleagues to advance pipeline projects.
• Learn development risks and strategies to avoid them.
• Support deal closures that provide affordable housing for residents.
