Job summary

Jobtailor in Arizona is seeking an experienced Construction Program Manager to lead design, preconstruction, and construction activities for large campus data center projects. Qualifications

• Ability to travel 25–50% of the time.
• Experience with delivery of data center facilities preferred.
• Seven years of data center construction experience and/or seven years of client-developer-facing tenant fit-out experience preferred.
• Extensive experience managing MEP trades preferred.

Job description

• Lead and manage design, preconstruction, and construction activities for assigned projects
• Manage multiple campus projects, budgets, schedules, and status reports
• Maintain daily tenant interface and developer-client partnerships
• Solve high-level, fast-paced problems and prioritize competing demands
• Create and communicate weekly development program and project status updates for executive reviews
• Create master development programs, campus design solutions, and capital budgets
• Manage entitlement and permitting needs
• Implement and manage multi-phased site development plans
• Write scopes of work and participate in procurement and project cost estimates
• Evaluate and level design, construction, and commissioning pricing proposals
• Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with strategic procurement
• Coordinate submittals with site stakeholders
• Monitor project budgets and cost-to-date
• Establish schedules and manage teams to on-time completion
• Review contractor pay applications and change order requests; negotiate pricing
• Establish site construction security procedures
• Develop and communicate product deployment plans
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Product teams on custom client solutions
• Serve as liaison with key QTS stakeholders and represent QTS in OAC meetings
• Support due diligence for potential new sites
• Improve internal project management processes and protocols

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience
• Seven or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
• Experience managing Lump Sum, Construction Management at Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from conceptual development through procurement to closeout
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint for executive-level program updates and Excel for site program and project budgets
• Ability to travel 25%-50% of the time, dependent on business needs
• Experience with delivery of mission-critical data center facilities preferred
• Seven years of data center construction experience and/or seven years of client-developer-facing tenant fit-out experience preferred
• Extensive experience managing MEP trades preferred
