Job summary

Human Rights Watch, Inc. seeks an Associate Director of Development and Outreach for its Los Angeles (Santa Monica) office. This full-time role reports to the Los Angeles Director and requires in-office presence about 3 days per week, with some evenings and weekends for events.

You will lead fundraising initiatives, mentor staff, coordinate Voices for Justice events, oversee donor communications in Salesforce, and expand donor support in the LA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 7+ years of donor management, philanthropy or fundraising experience.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner on fundraising strategy and implementation with the LA Director.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the Associate and staff wellbeing.
• Oversee outreach events and donor cultivation in Los Angeles.
• Coordinate with committees, donors, and event consultants.
• Ensure donor lists, reports, and budgets are maintained.
