FPWA is seeking a Development Operations Manager in New York to optimize fundraising systems and data. You will manage Salesforce, donor databases, and related platforms while producing reports on giving, donor activity, and fundraising performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–8 years of experience in nonprofit development operations, fundraising administration, or data management.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce required.
  • Strong technical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, fundraising and data reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, superior organization, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven success in managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage FPWA’s Salesforce database as well as fundraising and development technology platforms, ensuring accurate data entry, coding, segmentation, reporting and research.
  • Maintain the integrity and organization of donor, funder, and prospect information.
  • Oversee all gift processing and acknowledgment workflows, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and a donor‑centered approach.
  • Produce regular reports on giving levels, donor activity, and fundraising performance for leadership and board review.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of data management systems, processes, and reporting tools.
  • Manage departmental invoicing, expenses, and reconciliation with the Finance team.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to the Chief Development Officer, including scheduling, expense submissions, ongoing reports and projects, and tracking key deliverables.
  • Conduct donor and prospect research to identify potential major, corporate, and institutional funders, and prospective board members.
  • Maintain systems for tracking donor interactions, acknowledgments, and engagement history.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to coordinate annual campaigns, appeals, and special initiatives.
  • Support the development of donor stewardship processes that strengthen relationships and retention.
  • Manage lists for solicitations, cultivation mailings, and fundraising communications.
  • Support logistics and operations for donor, board, and cultivation events, including guest tracking, vendor coordination, and materials preparation.
  • Monitor internal workflows, deadlines, and deliverables across all fundraising channels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate financial and donor information for proposals and reports.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for the department.
  • Contribute to department‑wide planning and evaluation processes.
  • Represent FPWA with professionalism and commitment to donor‑centered service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OVERVIEW

FPWA seeks a Development Operations Manager who is a highly organized person with strong technical proficiency in fundraising systems and donor database to strengthen the systems, processes, and data that drive fundraising success across institutional, corporate, individual, and board giving. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role requires advanced proficiency in Salesforce, along with experience using fundraising and prospect research platforms such as Instrumentl, iWave, donor databases, email marketing platforms, and Microsoft Excel to support fundraising operations and reporting. The Manager oversees all gift processing and acknowledgments and produces reports on giving levels and donor engagement. The Manager also supports donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, event logistics, and departmental administration, including expense tracking and ongoing projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems, Processes, and Reporting

SALARY & BENEFITS
  • Salary range: $71,000 minimum to $85,000 maximum, commensurate with experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

As part of building a culture where employees can do their best work, FPWA currently employs a hybrid model. Employees are currently in‑office twice per week with all staff in office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Senior leadership is in‑office three times per week. We observe a company‑wide remote day on Fridays.

Work performed by this role is expected to happen in or near New York, NY given FPWA's work policies and practices.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
