Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner organization, seeks a Development Officer, Individual Giving in the United States. You will manage a portfolio of 125–150 donors, build relationships, and secure proceeds toward an $800,000 annual goal.

You will collaborate with senior leaders and donors in a multinational setting, focusing on five- and six-figure commitments, including planned and endowment gifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of fundraising experience, including frontline fundraising in a complex organization.
  • Proven track record closing $7M+ in total fundraising revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, with a focus on five-figure+ contributions.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 125–150 donors and prospects across a defined U.S. territory.
  • Achieve an annual fundraising revenue goal of $800,000 through proactive engagement and strategic solicitation.
  • Develop tailored solicitation strategies for major gifts, including planned gifts and endowment opportunities.
  • Guide the creation of donor proposals and oversee stewardship, impact communications, and reporting.
  • Maintain donor records, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasts through CRM and development technology.
  • Collaborate with board members, executives, donors, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify new prospects and expand giving opportunities.
  • Uphold high standards of ethical conduct and safeguarding with donors and communities.

This role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful philanthropic support for a global mission focused on expanding access to safe, affordable housing. As a frontline fundraiser, you’ll build and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals while securing significant gifts that create lasting impact for families and communities. You’ll oversee a portfolio of approximately 125–150 donors and prospects within a defined U.S. territory, developing personalized strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward supporters. The role combines relationship management, strategic fundraising, proposal development, and revenue forecasting to achieve an annual goal of $800,000. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, board members, donors, and colleagues across a complex, global organization. Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, with a focus on securing five-figure and larger contributions.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 125–150 qualified donors and prospects across a defined U.S. territory, maintaining strong and personalized relationships.
  • Achieve or exceed an annual fundraising revenue goal of $800,000 through proactive engagement, strategic solicitation, and effective relationship management.
  • Develop tailored solicitation strategies for major gifts, including diaspora giving, campaign contributions, planned gifts, endowment opportunities, and other financial products.
  • Guide the creation of compelling donor proposals and oversee meaningful stewardship, impact communications, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, activity tracking, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasts through CRM and development technology.
  • Collaborate with board members, executives, donors, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify new prospects, strengthen relationships, and expand giving opportunities.

  • Uphold high standards of ethical conduct and safeguarding when engaging with donors, colleagues, beneficiaries, and communities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of successful fundraising experience, including at least 3 years of frontline fundraising experience in a complex organization.
  • Proven track record of personally closing $7 million+ in total fundraising revenue throughout your career.
  • Demonstrated success securing complex five- and six-figure commitments, including planned gifts, campaign gifts, endowment gifts, and investment-related opportunities.
  • Strong experience managing donor portfolios, cultivating relationships, developing solicitation strategies, and closing major gifts.
  • Experience working effectively within complex, matrixed organizational structures and collaborating with senior leaders, board members, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, creative, presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong CRM and development technology capabilities, with the ability to maintain accurate pipeline information and revenue forecasts.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building abilities, supported by integrity, humility, accountability, and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Genuine passion for advancing mission-driven work and the ability to inspire others to contribute to a meaningful cause.
  • CFRE certification and experience working within a multinational federated organization are preferred.
