Job summary

The American Council is seeking a Development Officer to grow our donor community and advance our mission. You will build relationships with supporters, articulate our case for support, and secure new and renewed gifts to sustain our programs.

As a Development Officer, you will manage relationships, plan outreach events, and collaborate with teams to ensure stewardship and impact reporting. A heart for faith communities and civic engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in fundraising, sales, ministry, or relationship-based work.

• Identify and cultivate new supporters through events, churches, and community networks
• Make personal asks for annual, monthly, and special gifts

Performance requirement: Raise at least 2.5 times your annual compensation in new and renewed gifts each year, measured against a plan agreed with the Director of Development.

• Confidence asking for gifts and following up consistently
• Warm, professional communication in person, by phone, and in writing
• A heart for the Church and for faithful civic engagement
