Albuquerque Community Foundation seeks a Development Officer to grow its endowment and secure significant gifts. You will cultivate and steward long‑term relationships with donors and professional advisors, reporting to the VP of Development, with substantial autonomy and limited administrative duties.

The role emphasizes donor engagement, closing gifts, and cross‑team collaboration to advance fundraising strategy.

The Development Officer supports the Albuquerque Community Foundation’s mission by building its endowment and securing significant individual gifts. This role focuses on cultivating and stewarding long‑term relationships with donors and professional advisors. Reporting to the VP of Development, the position offers significant autonomy, limited administrative duties, and an emphasis on relationship‑building, donor engagement, and closing gifts.

Additional Areas of Responsibility:

Collaborates across the Development team and Foundation‑wide initiatives to support fundraising and donor engagement. Prepares reports and analyzes fundraising trends to inform strategy. Represents the Foundation at community events and networking opportunities, builds awareness and relationships, stays informed about community needs, and actively practices learning around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Other Information/Requirements:

Collaborates with the Development team to coordinate fundraising and donor engagement efforts and participates in Foundation‑wide events and initiatives. Prepares fundraising reports, tracks pipeline development, donor engagement, and revenue projections, and analyzes trends to inform strategy. Represents the Foundation at community events and networking opportunities, builds awareness, stays informed about community needs, and supports ongoing learning around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
