Job summary

Albuquerque Community Foundation is seeking a Donor Services Associate to support donor database management, gift processing, and donor communications. This fully in-person role reports to the Vice President of Development and starts Fall 2026 in Downtown Albuquerque.

The position focuses on onboarding fundholders, donor acknowledgments, and coordinating fundraising events, with hands-on experience in a collaborative foundation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to donors, fundholders, and professional advisors.
• Assist with donor engagement activities including scheduling, meeting prep, follow-up communication, and mailings.
• Support the onboarding process for new fundholders by preparing and tracking fundholder materials and forms.
• Coordinate regular donor acknowledgment processes such as thank-you letters, calls, and other touchpoints.
• Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in the Foundation’s database called Community Suite.
• Generate reports and donor lists for mailings, campaigns, and outreach efforts.
• Organize and update development-related materials including fund agreements, giving handouts, and quarterly fundraising letters.

Position Summary

The Development Associate (internal title: Donor Services Associate) supports nonprofit development and fundraising operations through donor database management, gift processing, donor stewardship, and donor communications. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Associate helps coordinate fundholder onboarding, acknowledgement activities, fundraising events, and engagement initiatives aligned with the Foundation’s Strategic Plan, while maintaining accurate donor records and materials.

This role suits someone early in a development career who wants to learn the field from the inside, and it also suits an experienced professional who enjoys detailed, donor facing work at an established foundation.

Main Job Responsibilities

Donor Relations &DepartmentSupport

• Provide excellent customer service to donors, fundholders, and professional advisors.

• Help prepare fund agreements and amendments as directed.

Database & Record Management

• Maintainaccuratedonorand prospect records in the Foundation’s database called Community Suite and other tools.

• Generate reports and donor lists for mailings, campaigns, and outreach efforts.

• Organize and update development-related materials including fund agreements, givinghandouts, and quarterly fundraising letters.

Event Support

• Provide administrative and logistical support for donor-related events, including invitation tracking, registration, and follow-up.

• Assistwith donor education and engagement events such as Lunch & Learns, the Annual Donor Party, and community tours.

• Provideadministrative support to all Giving Circles at the Foundation

• Provide support to the Development team on the coordination of the Foundation’s Estate Planning Conferenceand any donor related event

Campaign & Committee Assistance

• Support Foundationcampaigns andsolicitationsand help track engagement and renewals.

• Provide administrative support to theVice President of DevelopmentandtheDevelopmentCommitteeof the Board of Trustees, including preparing materials and note-taking as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other members of the development team to ensure a coordinated approach to fundraising and donor engagement.

• Participate in Foundation-wide events, meetings, and initiatives as needed.

Community Engagement:

• Represent the Albuquerque Community Foundation at community events, networking functions, and other public forums to raise awareness of the Foundation’s work and attract new supporters.

• Stay informed about community needs, challenges, and opportunities to align fundraising efforts with the Foundation’s mission.

The Foundationoperateswitha smallstaff. All staff members are expected toparticipateas needed in all areas.
