Job summary

AvalonBay Communities in Bellevue, WA seeks a Development Manager to lead multifamily and mixed-use development projects from concept to completion. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• MBA with Real Estate concentration preferred.
• Approximately 3+ years of experience in real estate development, construction, finance, investments, operations, design, or related field.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to senior leaders.
• LEED certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage multifamily and mixed-use development projects through planning, entitlement, design, and execution.
• Prepare and maintain project financial models, pro formas, and investment analyses.
• Evaluate market, environmental, engineering, and land use studies to support development decisions.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and oversee project‑related contracts.
• Prepare project updates and presentations for senior leadership and investment committees.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure projects align with company standards and objectives.
• Cultivate relationships with municipalities, consultants, brokers, landowners, and industry partners.
• Represent Vivmark in meetings with community stakeholders and business partners.
• Support business development activities and identify new investment opportunities.
• Manage consultant selection processes and negotiate service agreements.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, land planners, environmental consultants, and other project partners.
• Facilitate cross‑functional project meetings, track milestones, and help resolve issues that impact delivery.
• Conduct market research, demographic analysis, and feasibility studies.
• Participate in site evaluations, acquisition due diligence, and investment reviews.
• Assist in identifying and pursuing strategic development opportunities in target markets.
