Job summary

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools is seeking a Development Manager to oversee daily fundraising operations, donor management, and donor relations in Philadelphia. You will serve as the internal lead for the donor CRM, ensure data accuracy, manage campaigns, and coordinate events with the Managing Director of Development.

The role requires at least 3 years of nonprofit development experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and Salesforce experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years nonprofit development and fundraising campaign experience.
  • Experience administering a donor CRM, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with grant management is preferred.
  • Background checks including PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, Cogent Federal Fingerprinting.

Job Description

Role Overview: The Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the development department, with a key focus on fundraising campaigns, donor management systems, stewardship workflows, and donor cultivation initiatives. In this role, the Development Manager acts as the internal lead for the organization’s donor CRM platform, ensuring the accuracy of donor data, smooth execution of campaigns, and effective tracking of stewardship efforts. Working closely with the Managing Director of Development, the Development Manager supports revenue growth by executing targeted campaigns, maintaining robust donor systems, and coordinating events and activities that engage donors.

Key Responsibilities
Donor Management Systems & Reporting
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce, managing and maintaining the donor database to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timely entry of gifts, interactions, moves management activity, and donor portfolio assignments.
  • Manage timely gift entry and acknowledgment workflows and partner with Finance to support routine reconciliation between fundraising and financial record
  • Produce regular reports and dashboards to track revenue, donor engagement and retention, and campaign performance to help leadership make informed decisions.
Campaign Management & Execution
  • Lead execution of annual appeals, digital fundraising campaigns, event-related fundraising, and other special campaigns in partnership with the Managing Director of Development and Marketing.
  • Administer and oversee the organization's online fundraising platform, including campaign setup, peer-to-peer pages, designations, data imports or integrations, and reporting.
  • Monitor results throughout each campaign, flag risks early, recommend adjustments, and prepare post-campaign analysis covering revenue, participation, response, acquisition, retention, channel performance, and lessons learned.
Donor Relations & Events Support
  • Work closely with the Managing Director of Development to provide logistical support for events, guaranteeing efficient execution and positive outcomes from pre-event planning through post-event follow-up. Responsibilities include managing event timelines, invitations, RSVPs, guest lists, seating arrangements, and coordinating post-event activities.
  • Coordinate the donor- and sponsor-facing logistics for fundraising and stewardship events, ensuring participants receive accurate, timely information and have what they need to fully engage
  • Support donor recognition, impact reporting, and ongoing cultivation activities
Grants Coordination
  • Work with the Grant Consultant to manage the grants calendar and ensure all deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
  • Collect and organize program data, outcomes, budgets, attachments, and funder requirements needed for proposals, reports, and compliance tracking.
  • Track grants from prospect or application through award, reporting, renewal, and closeout, keeping records and commitments current in Salesforce and shared project-management tools.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of nonprofit development experience, including direct ownership of development operations and fundraising campaign execution.
  • Hands-on experience administering a donor CRM, including data standards, gift and interaction entry, segmentation, dashboards, reporting, imports or exports, and quality control; Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing the logistics of fundraising events preferred.
  • Experience with grant management including identifying, researching, and tracking grants from award to completion preferred.
  • Strong written communication, organization, judgment, and attention to detail, including the ability to identify risks and communicate them before deadlines are missed.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Complete all required criminal and child abuse background checks:
    • PA State Police Clearance

    • Cogent Federal Fingerprinting
Additional Information
  • Starting salary range for this position is $70,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience.
