Job description

The Development Manager serves as a key member of the Development team responsible for advancing relationships with museum members, individuals, and corporate donors and prospects in support of the Eiteljorg Museum. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive giving program including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for a portfolio of 125-150 current and prospective donors. The Development Manager will inspire and secure philanthropic support that advances the museum’s strategic priorities, with an emphasis on unrestricted giving, multi-year commitments, programs, exhibitions, and special initiatives. The position will also leverage museum exhibitions, programs, and annual events, including Quest for the West®, Indian Market & Festival, Dia de Muertos, and Jingle Rails, as opportunities to engage and deepen donor relationships.

This position will be responsible for the submission of membership, major giving, and sponsorship solicitations. After documenting moves and commitments into the museum’s constituent relationship database, the Development Manager will organize and execute all stewardship activities. These efforts will include benefit fulfillment, which will demand close collaboration with several departments across the museum. In addition, the Development Manager will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics for the Development department’s annual signature events. This may include supporting event planning, donor and sponsor communications, benefit fulfillment, and other activities that contribute to a successful and meaningful experience for donors, members, and guests.
