Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Development Lead Engineer to guide cross-functional product development and drive new ideas from concept to field deployment.

You will maintain a deep understanding of electric power systems, lead technical work, mentor teams, and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles. This onsite role is based in Pullman, WA or Butte, MT with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in electric power systems, protection practices.
• Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional product development teams.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design, development, introduction, and cross-disciplinary activities.
• Maintain understanding of electric power systems and protection philosophies.
• Conceive and develop concepts for new product ideas and enhancements.
• Provide power engineering support for customers and field engineers.
• Serve as technical lead on complex projects.
• Model and apply SEL Values and manufacturing principles.
