Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory in Kentucky seeks a fundraising professional to promote its mission and lead the Angel Tree program. You will engage community partners, organize events, and secure sponsorships to support campaigns across Central Kentucky.

You will assist in overall fundraising, manage digital campaigns, and represent the organization on local boards and with partner agencies while supporting the Development Manager with PR activities and volunteer recruitment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience and/or strong interest in fundraising.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.
• Ability to collaborate on complex social issues within families and communities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, social media, and fundraising software.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• A passion for The Salvation Army’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Promote The Salvation Army’s mission and programs in the community.
• Implement and sustain the Angel Tree Program in Central Kentucky.
• Engage with key community partners, organize special events, and secure corporate sponsorships.
• Assist in overall fundraising initiatives.
• Serve as Lead Staff for the Echelon Young Professionals Program and meet with community leaders and organizations to promote the program.
• Oversee Kentucky Gives Day Digital Campaign and Bluegrass Community Foundation Good Giving Challenge Campaign.
• Manage CKAS Website and secure local stories for the Direct Mail Campaign.
• Represent The Salvation Army on local boards, chambers of commerce, and committees; collaborate with partner agencies.
• Assist the Development Manager with contacts, monthly and weekly meetings, and as needed community public relations contact for Scott & Fayette Counties.
• Plan and implement fundraising and awareness events such as the Red Kettle Kickoff, Annual Dinners, Volunteer appreciation, and more.
• Assist the Development Manager with social media and website updates, special events, promotions, and volunteer recruitment, training, and onboarding.
