Job summary

Hut 8 seeks a Principal, FP&A - Development to own the financial picture of its development portfolio across the full project lifecycle, from estimate to completion. You will publish recurring reports, build cost estimates, and act as a trusted finance partner to Corporate Development and the Energy Origination team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in FP&A, project finance, cost estimating, project controls, or portfolio analytics.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in portfolio analysis, cost estimating, budgeting and estimate-vs-actual analysis.
• Excellent communication skills; able to publish polished reporting and present findings to stakeholders.
• Comfort operating with ownership and autonomy across the full lifecycle of a project.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Willingness to travel ~10% to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Publish recurring reports on the development portfolio - budgets, forecasts, commitments, spend, and variances - weekly/monthly.
• Perform portfolio-level analysis across projects: capital deployment, cost trends, benchmarking, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
• Build dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or AI tools for self-serve insights.
• Own the financial view of the full development lifecycle; maintain cost estimates at each stage.
• Track estimate-vs-actual analyses at project commercialization.
• Reconcile project data between PMIS and NetSuite for a single source of truth.
• Support monthly close, accruals, and capital reporting with Accounting.
• Travel to project sites ~10% to validate assumptions.
