Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Development Engineer to lead technical development for utility-scale power infrastructure projects in Houston, TX. You will drive early-stage engineering, feasibility studies, interconnection work, and coordination with EPC partners to move projects toward execution.

You will collaborate across development, finance, legal, and EPC teams, with 5+ years in related energy infrastructure, and a PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy Systems, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in utility-scale renewable energy, BESS, solar PV, or power infrastructure.
• PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus.

We're seeking a Development Engineer to lead technical development from early-stage feasibility through 30% design, partnering with development, finance, legal, and EPC teams to advance projects into execution.

What You'll Do

• Lead early-stage engineering and system design for utility-scale power infrastructure projects.

• Support interconnection, permitting, and technical due diligence activities.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy Systems, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in utility-scale renewable energy, BESS, solar PV, or power infrastructure.
• Experience with project developers, EPC contractors, or owner-operators.
• Knowledge of interconnection processes, ISO/RTO requirements, and engineering design tools (AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams.
• PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus.

Compensation

• $110,000–$140,000 base salary, commensurate with experience.
