Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Development Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC team. You will lead design, verification and qualification of cable backplane systems, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with customer requirements.

Working with a global cross-functional group, you will define specifications, develop test programs, present concepts to customers, and coordinate transfer to manufacturing to bring new connector solutions to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
2+ years' experience.
Experience in connector design preferred.
Proficient in 3D modeling (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).
Familiarity with product development lifecycle and systems engineering.
Strong understanding of hardware components and their applications in electronics manufacturing.
Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation.
Excellent understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).
Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
ANSYS or other FEA simulation experience

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop power connector solutions as required by the BU strategic roadmap and new business opportunities.
Work with Front-end team and customers to define product/application requirements.
Lead product design reviews and create and communicate technical presentations.
Develop testing programs to ensure products work per design intent.
Present product concepts to customers early in development cycle, interpret feedback, and incorporate any revised requirements into the design.
Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications.
Define a verification and product qualification test plans.
Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to ensure products are transitioned to manufacturing
