Job summary

Posse Bay Area seeks a Development Director to lead the site’s fundraising efforts in close collaboration with the national team. You will plan and manage development strategies, cultivate donors, and oversee grants-related documentation and compliance.

You will build an annual development plan targeting approximately $2 million, cultivate a robust pipeline of prospects, and coordinate with advisory boards to expand the network in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Seven years minimum of work experience as a development professional.
• Motivated and able to work independently as well as with a team.
• Willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task, manage concurrent processes/projects, and focus on the small but important details in all projects while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent office and computer skills. Proficient in Word, Excel and experience working with a fundraising database.
• Able to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with colleagues, donors, volunteers and the public.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated belief in Posse’s mission and values

Responsibilities

• Work with advisory board members to expand network of Posse supporters in the Bay Area.
• Work with national development team to plan fundraising events and develop strategy for soliciting corporate donations for events.
• Work with external relations to produce and distribute collateral to engage community of supporters.

Job description

The development director is an essential part of the Posse Bay Area development effort. The development director is responsible for working with the site director and with Posse’s national development team to meet annual revenue goals. The development director, in coordination with the national development team will plan, manage, and coordinate the site’s development efforts including building new strategies for expanded funding, identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors. The development director sends thank you letters and other correspondence, plans events, solicits corporate donations for events, and ensures all necessary documents for grants management and audit purposes are properly filed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
