Job summary

Western Carolina University is seeking a Director of Development to lead major gift fundraising for the College of Business in Cullowhee, NC. This on-site role reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development and drives qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship with a focus on gifts of $25,000 and above.

You will manage donor portfolios, develop fundraising plans, and work closely with University Advancement and Marketing to advance the comprehensive campaign goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with at least 3 years of fundraising experience.
• Experience in higher education fundraising is preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for assigned prospects, focusing on major gifts of $25,000 and above.
• Identify and qualify new prospects and manage assigned fundraising projects.
• Develop and execute the annual development plan for the College in collaboration with leadership.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction for development efforts within the College and coordinate with Advancement staff.
