Job summary

Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) seeks a Development Director to lead donor engagement, major gifts, and fundraising strategy from its Waterbury, VT base. You will collaborate with the Executive Director, Board, and Fundraising Committee to grow a robust donor portfolio and drive annual philanthropic support under VMBA’s strategic plan.

The role requires 4+ years of nonprofit fundraising, strong relationship-building with high-net-worth donors, and a data-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years nonprofit fundraising experience with a focus on individual philanthropy and major gifts.
• Experience engaging high-net-worth donors, foundations, and family offices.
• Strong organizational skills with CRM familiarity and data-driven donor tracking.
• Ability to work independently toward defined fundraising goals and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a robust donor pipeline and cultivated relationships with major gifts.
• Lead and coordinate donor engagement with Executive Director, Board, and Fundraising Committee.
• Plan and execute fundraising events and donor meetings to meet annual goals.
• Collaborate with Marketing to design campaigns and donor communications.
