Position Summary Mission:USA is a faith-based ministry focused on reducing recidivism and relapse by fueling life-change among people rebuilding after incarceration, addiction, and gang involvement. Mission:USA is seeking a mission-oriented Development Director focused on supporting and expanding the reach of our ministry via a data-driven focus on Individual Giving. The role primarily involves donor management across all stages of the donor funnel. This role is Chicago-based, though qualified remote candidates will be considered. Key Responsibilities

This role requires management of individual donors throughout the entire funnel:

• Creating awareness of Mission:USA with relevant potential donors, including:
  • Maintaining consistent social media and online branding content
  • Building partnerships and liaising with churches, faith-based non-profits, faith-based podcasts, etc. to set up speaking engagements, book promotion events (of newly published book More Church Than Church), or similar small events in Chicagoland area
• Maintaining interest of warm contacts/leads, including:
  • Managing regular email campaigns and impact newsletters
  • Connecting interested newcomers with relevant content (e.g., blog, social media posts, book chapters)
  • Following up on warm connections from top of funnel events
• Driving involvement and support from potential donors, including:
  • Motivating interested individuals to actively attend Mission:USA’s regular Tuesday Bridge services as volunteers (e.g., drivers, handing out food, etc.)
  • Creating additional ‘host teams’ (typically 3-6 volunteers from the same church / organization) that are willing to sponsor a meal for Tuesday night service
  • Deepening supporter relationships into donors, including stewardship of donors into recurring donors and/or ambassadors of Mission:USA’s ministry impact

The ideal candidate would be able to independently manage all aspects of the individual giving donor funnel, including tracking metrics and success at each step to identify pain points and proactively prioritize where best to spend their time for maximum impact.

Comfort with digital tools (email platforms, CRM, social media)

Highly relational, team-oriented, and self-motivated, with ability to work independently

College degree preferred

Experience in faith-based or urban ministry

Experience in non-profit development or individual giving roles (e.g., alumni affairs, recruitment, fundraising, etc.)

Compensation

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000
