Job summary

AgeSmart Community Resources is seeking a Director of Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising program focused on individual, corporate, foundation, and events revenue. The role drives caregiver support, meals for homebound clients, and crisis assistance through a robust pipeline and board-backed strategy.

You will manage a three-year plan, maintain a donor base, and collaborate with the CEO and board to meet revenue goals while ensuring ethical fundraising practices.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive fundraising experience, including major gifts and corporate or foundation fundraising.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong track record of meeting revenue goals and closing significant gifts.
• Excellent grant writing and written communication skills.
• Experience with donor databases and fundraising events and sponsorships.
• Ability to build relationships with executives, community leaders and donors, including older adults.
• Willingness to travel through the seven-county area; evening and weekend events may be required.
• CFRE preferred; aging services or health/human services background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of AgeSmart's fundraising plan with annual revenue goals and monthly reports to CEO and Board.
• Run three appeals a year, online requests, monthly giving and Giving Tuesday campaigns.
• Steward donors, reactivate lapsed donors, and maintain donor database.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major donors with CEO and board members.
• Secure sponsorships for programs and campaigns from employers, financial institutions, health systems, and senior-care businesses.
• Develop funder strategy and build relationships with foundations and corporate funders; contribute to grant proposals.
• Lead fundraising for the Annual Meeting and one major community event yearly.
• Coordinate with grantees to strengthen the network without competitive conflicts.
• Serve as staff liaison to the board development committee and train volunteers in resource development.
