Job summary

Skylight Music Theatre is seeking a Director of Development to build a sustainable donor pipeline and lead fundraising programs. You will collaborate with the Executive Director and senior leadership to shape strategic priorities and ensure professional standards in development.

The role requires experience in fund development, donor relations, and major gifts, with a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in sales, fundraising, or management.
• Experience developing donor pipelines and major gifts.
• Ability to lead Development Department with a clear vision.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate with community members, staff, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and implement Skylight Music Theatre fundraising programs including annual campaigns and major gifts.
• Develop and execute a departmental operational plan and budget.
• Develop and nurture relationships with donors, volunteers, and prospects; create a multi-faceted stewardship program.
• Cultivate and guide volunteer leadership; support Board activities.
• Participate in strategic planning and daily decisions of the senior leadership team.
• Work with marketing to align collateral, promotions and deadlines, and assist with other projects.
