Job summary

Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri seeks an experienced Development Director to lead a comprehensive fundraising program that currently raises over $300K annually to support school operations.

The role is a key part of the leadership team, serving as an ambassador to parents, alumni, donors, and the wider community. Responsibilities include designing campaigns, managing the gala, donor communications, and reporting progress to the Finance Committee.

Qualifications

  • Multiple years of professional development experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience with CRM or donor management software or systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising program, including annual fundraising campaigns, planned giving programs, corporate and foundation proposals, and exploring grant opportunities.
  • Maintain key relationships with major benefactors and other stakeholders, apostolates, schools, and organizations.
  • Foster increased support from existing donors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee all fundraising aspects of the school’s annual Gala, The Chesterton Revel, with the parent-led event committee.
  • Develop and execute plans to foster warm alumni and parent relationships with the school.
  • Identify new and creative sources of funding.
  • Collaborate with communications/marketing to develop donor materials and broaden the base of support.
  • Oversee processing of donations, generate gift acknowledgements, and maintain giving records.
  • Report monthly to the Finance Committee on fundraising activities and progress toward goals.

Chesterton Academy, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, seeks an experienced, energetic, and relationship-oriented Development Director to implement and lead all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising program that currently raises more than $300K annually in support of school operations.

A key member of Chesterton Academy’s leadership team, the Director of Development serves as an important representative with parents, alumni, donors, and the greater community.

Responsibilities include:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising program, including established annual fundraising campaigns, planned giving programs, corporate and foundation proposals, and exploration of grant opportunities.
  • Maintain key relationships with major benefactors and other stakeholders, apostolates, schools, and organizations.
  • Foster increased support from existing donors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee all fundraising aspects of the school’s annual fundraising Gala,The Chesterton Revel, in close cooperation with parent-led event committee.
  • Develop and execute plan to foster warm alumni and parent relationships with the school.
  • Identify new and creative sources of funding.
  • Work in close association with school communications and marketing personnel to develop materials to communicate with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders to broaden and deepen the base of support for the school.
  • Oversee processing of all donations, generate gift acknowledgements, and maintain giving records of donors to the school.
  • Report monthly to the Finance Committee of the Board to keep them apprised of fundraising activities and progress towards goals.
