ArtsBuild seeks a Director of Development to lead fundraising, strengthen donor relations, and expand community support in Chattanooga. You’ll work with the President, staff, and Board to create sustainable philanthropy and inclusive practices.

You’ll drive annual strategies, oversee grants, grow major gifts and monthly donations, and cultivate corporate and foundation partnerships. A collaborative, mission-driven leader is essential.

Qualifikationen

As Director of Development, you’ll lead ArtsBuild’s fundraising efforts, strengthen relationships with existing supporters, and introduce new people and businesses to our mission. Working closely with our President, staff, and Board of Directors, you’ll help build a more sustainable and inclusive culture of philanthropy.

• Developing and implementing annual and long-term fundraising strategies.


• Serving as ArtsBuild’s primary point person for grants, including identifying funding opportunities, writing and submitting proposals and reports, coordinating staff contributions, managing deadlines and requirements, and maintaining an annual grants calendar to ensure timely applications, renewals, and reporting.


• Growing individual giving, major gifts, monthly donations, and ArtsBuild’s Annual Campaign.


• Building relationships with corporate sponsors, foundations, and community partners.


• Identifying and engaging new supporters, including younger and first-time donors.


• Collaborating with staff and Board members on donor engagement, grant opportunities, campaigns, and special events.


• Managing donor information, tracking fundraising progress, and communicating the impact of charitable giving.

• At least three years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, business development, relationship management, or a related field.


• Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including comfort initiating conversations, making presentations, and asking for financial support.


• Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.


• A collaborative approach to working with staff, Board members, donors, volunteers, and community partners.


• Comfort using databases, CRM systems, or similar tools to manage relationships, track activity, and measure results.
