Job summary

UCLA Extension (UCLAx) seeks an Associate Director of Development and Corporate Sponsorships to lead fundraising efforts and strengthen partnerships. You will identify, cultivate, and solicit annual gifts, manage a donor portfolio, and shape event strategies while collaborating with the Assistant Dean, External Affairs.

The role emphasizes launching frontline fundraising initiatives, engaging a broad set of internal and external stakeholders, and driving growth for continuing education programs

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum of demonstrated annual giving or fundraising experience (Required)
• Experience in establishing, managing, and evaluating strategic partnerships, collaborations, and initiatives (Required)
• Experience in planning and executing special events to advance engagement and fundraising (Required)
• Strong knowledge of fundraising principles within higher education and research institutions (Required)
• Skilled in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors and partners (Required)
• Proficient in researching prospective funders and developing value propositions (Required)
• Excellent written communication for reports, proposals, and fundraising materials (Required)
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills (Required)
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to meet deadlines independently (Required)
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills (Required)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools (Required)
• Experience with staff training and management to support fundraising objectives (Required)
• Experience with Blackbaud CRM or comparable donor databases (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and solicit annual gifts ranging from $5,000 to $75,000.
• Manage a portfolio of prospects, sponsors and donors and develop tailored cultivation plans.
• Create and timetable individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Oversee execution of UCLAx cultivation events supporting annual operations.
• Support and/or manage corporate sponsorship event strategies.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Dean, External Affairs on fundraising projects and initiatives.
